Carissa Chesanek is an NYC-based writer with a Master’s in Journalism and a recent Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from The New School. Her work has been seen in Writer's Digest, The Brooklyn Rail, The Rumpus, BroadwayWorld.com, Food Network, Forbes Travel Guide, Miami Herald, and Zagat.com. She was a 2021 editorial fellow with Guernica magazine and now serves as the reviews and interviews editor at Longleaf Review.  Currently, she is a member of the Prison Writing Committee with PEN America and a mentor with Memorial Sloan Kettering's Visible Ink writing program. She is actively seeking representation for her debut novel.
